Dustin Peterson, a second-round selection of San Diego in 2013, spent last season at Low Class A Fort Wayne and hit .233 with 10 homers, 79 RBI and 31 doubles in 126 games. Smith is best known for his speed, having led the minors with 88 stolen bases while splitting last season between Fort Wayne and High-A Lake Elsinore. The 21-year-old combined to hit .310 with five homers and 31 RBI over 120 games. Northcraft posted a 7-3 record with a 2.88 ERA in 13 games (12 starts) with Double-A Mississippi, but struggled in a climb up the ladder.
